Cookie policy

A cookie is a small record in your browser. Some tools send visit data without writing a cookie. Both are described here.

1. The short rule

What the site needs in order to open runs on its own. Measurement and advertising tools do not run until you accept. Google Consent Mode v2 is set to denied before the page paints. Reject takes the same number of clicks as accept. Nothing optional is pre-ticked.

The choice is kept for six months. “Cookie settings” in the footer changes or withdraws it. Withdrawal tries to delete the related cookies. A browser does not always allow that.

2. Categories

Strictly necessary: language, security, and your cookie choice. These cannot be switched off.
Functional: no third-party tool sits here today. A future non-essential preference would. It starts off.
Analytics: Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity (session replay and heatmaps), Vercel Analytics, and Speed Insights. Vercel’s two tools can measure without a cookie. They still wait for analytics consent.
Marketing: no Meta, LinkedIn, or Google Ads pixel is hard-coded. If one is added in the tag manager, it runs only with marketing consent. Cookies such as _gcl_au or _fbp can appear only then.

4. What loads, and when

Google Tag Manager does not load unless analytics or marketing is allowed. When it loads, Google is told which category is on. Ads storage stays denied while analytics is the only yes, and the reverse is also true. Clarity and Analytics tags inside the container have to follow that signal. If they do not, a tag can run just because the container loaded.

The record version is 2026-10-08. The record holds the choices, the time, and an id. The same record is written to the server log. The log does not ask for your name or email.

5. The browser

You can also delete cookies in the browser. If you delete the necessary cookie, the language and the cookie choice are forgotten and the bar returns. Blocking third-party cookies in the browser does not replace this bar.
