How to lock a corporate identity in Konya

Identity work in Konya is not delivered until the mark, color, type, and rules lock.

Identity work in Konya is not delivered until the mark, color, type, and rules lock.

Corporate identity work for an organization operating in Konya is not the delivery of one logo file. The mark, the color, the type, and the usage rules have to lock together. Until they do, the website and the printed piece drift apart and look like two different organizations.

Choosing a pin on a map does not settle the work. A team in manufacturing, health, education, or trade still has to show the same mark on the website, on stationery, and in a short film. The useful question is not who can draw a symbol. The useful question is whether the delivery is a system. Graphic design, the website, packaging, and motion stay separate offers on the services list, and one brief ties them to the same mark. A synonym page, a street list, or a district page does not close that gap.

The four locks

The mark may be a word, a letter, or an abstract form. A file name is not a mark. The Turkish Patent trademark page defines a mark as a sign that can distinguish one undertaking's goods or services from another's. Words, figures, colors, letters, and numbers sit inside that definition. The page does not issue a registration decision. Looking for similar signs before a wordmark is duplicated is also not a substitute for legal advice. A word that is locked without that look becomes expensive to pull back once it is on the website and on paper the same week.

A palette is not a decoration list. The primary color, the text color, and the background are chosen together. A color that will become website text is not locked before the contrast criterion is read. The W3C page for WCAG 2.2 contrast sets a ratio of at least 4.5 to 1 for ordinary text and writes the large-text exception in the same criterion. That ratio is not a score invented by the studio. A rule that says the brand yellow may sit on every background can make text unreadable on a light gray field. The guide has to record the text color and the background pair on their own line.

If the same type family will serve screen and print, the license and the character set belong in the brief. A family that lacks Turkish characters spells the organization's name correctly on a card and incorrectly on the site. That is a typesetting condition, not a performance claim. When two cuts are chosen, the guide also says which cut carries long text. Otherwise a social template will set body copy in the display cut and the system splits.

Usage rules cover small sizes, clear space, a single-ink version, and prohibitions. Nielsen Norman Group writes, in the consistency heuristic, that users should not have to wonder whether different words, situations, or actions mean the same thing. The identity rule closes that question for the mark: the sign on the site and the sign on paper are the same organization. If stretching, casual shadows, and recoloring are not written as prohibitions, every channel invents its own version.

What the brief has to close

A brief is not a taste round. Some decisions have to close. Which spelling of the name is locked? Does the abbreviation stay inside the mark, or is only the long name used? Will the mark exist in horizontal, vertical, and single-ink forms? Drawing concepts before those answers means setting a discarded name into every file.

The second decision is the list of surfaces. If the corporate website, an ecommerce storefront, a catalog cover, a social cover, and a motion opener are all wanted in the same week, each one is written in the brief. A surface that is not on the list and is later added as "just make this too" produces a color and a typeface from outside the system. Teams that operate in Konya may split the website and the trade-show print across vendors. The rule still lives in one document. A street description, a district page, or a map pin does not replace that document.

The third decision is the limit of research. Looking at common colors and marks in a sector is for seeing collisions, not for copying. A competitor list is not invented. If the brief says the mark must not resemble three named organizations, those organizations' public marks are attached. A guessed list pushes the design in the wrong direction.

What to do before delivery

The folder of files stays closed until the following checks pass. If any item is not a yes, delivery waits. The list does not discuss price and does not promise a search position. It only shows a missing part of the system.

Is the name spelling locked? Are Turkish characters, spacing, and any abbreviation written on one line? If the mark departs from that line, files are not produced.

Has the small size been tried? Does the mark still read at favicon and avatar scale? If a thin stroke closes up, the mark does not leave until it is simplified.

Has a similarity reading been done for the wordmark? Has the definition on the Turkish Patent page been read? The reading does not mean a registration was granted. If a legal opinion is required, it is asked for on its own. It is not hidden inside the design delivery.

Have the text colors been held against the contrast criterion? Was the ordinary-text pair noted against the ratio on the WCAG page? A pair that fails is not written into the guide as "the brand color." A separate dark or light text color is locked instead.

Do the typefaces include Turkish characters and a license record? Is the cut embedded on the web from the same family as the print cut? If the license covers desktop only, a separate web face is chosen and written into the guide.

Is there a single-ink version and a reversed version? Do the light ground, the dark ground, and the single-ink form keep the same geometry? If they do not, the version set is incomplete.

Do the website, the print, and the motion piece match the same file names? If SVG is for screen, PDF is for print, and a flat PNG is for preview, do the names match the roles in the guide? A motion scene that redraws the logo by hand is not delivered until it is tied back to the source file.

Are the prohibitions written? Do sentences forbid stretching the ratio, adding a casual shadow, and painting outside the palette? An unwritten ban is a rule that will not be followed.

The same mark on web and print

The identity guide enters the website in two places. The first is the mark, the color, and the type in the interface. The second is whether the text color meets the criterion. The WCAG page summarizes the goal as text that more people can see. The studio does not turn that sentence into a ranking promise. When the guide's text color moves onto the site, the criterion note is added to the brief. A failing color is not used as a heading.

Print carries the same geometry, plus ink and bleed. A catalog cover, a box face, or a book cover does not ask for a second mark. It asks for the print file of the same mark. Bleed and trim are production notes. They do not change the identity decision. The shape of packaging can fall inside the trademark definition on the patent page. That still is not a registration decision. The form is not declared to be a mark before it is locked.

Consistency does not mean every surface uses the same pixel size. Nielsen Norman Group explains, in the same heuristic, that conventions exist so users do not have to work to recognize familiar patterns. The mark at the top of the corporate site, the mark on letterhead, and the mark in the opening of a film should name the same organization and come from the same file. If one of them was redrawn by hand, the system is broken.

Social templates and motion scenes do not open before the identity is locked. A cover that leaves the palette means the template was produced too early. The four locks close first. Channel templates attach to those locks afterward. That sequence is a production sequence. It is not a search ranking.

Questions

Does a logo file by itself count as corporate identity?

It does not. Until the mark, color, type, and usage rules are locked in the same delivery, the studio has only handed over a picture file.

Which public source is read before a wordmark is locked?

The Turkish Patent trademark page defines a mark by its ability to distinguish goods or services. Reading that page is not a registration decision and does not replace legal advice.

What is checked before identity colors are used as website text?

Read the WCAG 2.2 contrast criterion before locking a text color. The published ratio for ordinary text is at least 4.5 to 1, and the large-text exception is on the same page.
